Though I have used generative AI for images in the past, I have made the firm decision to step away from AI for the creation of any images. I already avoided generative AI for any prose, and I’m not revoking that decision – ever. I write my own words, make my own mistakes, and I’m still unsure whether to applaud the typos that remain after various rounds of editing or curse them.
Human work and creativity matters to me. I do my very best to work with people who also execute their own craft, instead of handing it off to an inanimate ‘intelligence’.

Sometimes, I may use AI for research using Google would be too time-consuming for (for instance: what kind of waste at a vineyard would produce black smoke). I use ProWritingAid for spell and grammar checking. I won’t allow it to generate words or ‘spark’ my sentences for me because I love the process of writing far too much to let anyone else take over! Let alone a machine that cannot feel the emotion behind the words and the love (sometimes hate, haha) for them like I do.
